Scouting in Portishead is only possible because of a dedicated team of Adult volunteers but for Scouting to continue to offer opportunities to the young people of Portishead, we need more adults to join our team.
If you are interested in getting involved, we will find a role to suit you… whether you want to volunteer for a couple of hours a week, a couple of hours a month, or a couple of hours a year! Whether you want to work directly with young people or help out behind the scenes. Some of the roles we currently have available are listed below, but if none of these roles are quite what you’re looking for please do get in touch for a chat about how you could fit into the team! You’re welcome to come in for a (free, no obligation!) cup of coffee and a chat with our Group Scout Leaders about how you could get involved!
Please click here for current roles we are looking to fill.
Is it for Me?
We often get told “I wish I could volunteer for Scouting, but I’m not like Bear Grylls”. The answer we always give is “neither are the rest of the leaders”. Sure, most of us love the great outdoors, but it isn’t a pre-requisite.
We also get told “I can’t volunteer, I have a job”. To give an idea of the sort of people who volunteer for us, here are some of the jobs that our leaders and supporters do:
- University Students / Sixth Form College Students
- University Staff
- Truck Driver
- Corporate Events
- Charity Home Improvements
- IT Director
- Local Government
- Nursery Nurse
- Full-Time Parent
If you are interested in your child joining 2nd Portishead Scout Group, please follow the link below and fill in the waiting list form and a member of our team will get back to you as quickly as possible.
